I am a scratchboard artist and a Master Member of the International Society of Scratchboard Artists.
My art career began when I learned at a very early age to pick up a pencil. I studied at the Victorian Artist Society and the Mildura College of TAFE Fine Arts Department.
My artistic aspiration were soon put on hold when the family started to multipy. Many years later I discovered the fine art of Scratchboard and have been scratching ever since (about 5 years).
Scratchboard is created by removing a layer of soft india ink to reveal a white kaolin clay surface. Colour is sometimes added afterwards. There are many layers to a completed work.
I have conducted many workshops and demonstrations on the medium including Australian Guild of Realist Artists at Seniors Art Supplies.
My work has been featured in the Australian Artist magazine and I have won prizes in their online competitions. I have received several art awards in my career.
My passion is wildife and their conservation in particular the big cats. I have donated several originals and prints to organisations both in Australia and overseas to help raise funds for great causes and I will continue to do so.
I recently won the premier Gold Award of the International Society of Scratchboard Artists witgh my "Jaguar Beauty". 2017
